WSMA held its annual Math Mania event on June 11 at the Microsoft Store in Bellevue Square.
Members of the our team organized different stations, each focusing on a different aspect of math including hands-on games, logic, and optimization problems. At each station, the kids were given stamps for solving the math problems and participating in games. We made sure to include problems with a varying range of difficulty so kids of all ages would be challenged by them.
After they had completed the stations, the kids were able to exchange their stamps for great prizes provided by Microsoft. These prizes included pencils, pens, candy, shirts, and water bottles. They served as a small reward for the amount of hard work the kids put into the problems!
Unlike in previous years, we decided to keep our event inside the Microsoft store.
Overall, we had a quality turnout. All of the kids had an awesome time and it was rewarding to see families and students collaborating on engaging math problems and playing educational games.
